A One-Day Intensive in the Fundamentals of Acting

Service Description

If you’re an actor who feels rusty, over-intellectualised, or disconnected from the simple pleasure of doing the work, Actor Reboot is designed to recalibrate you. At its core, acting is action — doing to another person. This workshop introduces QSI, a clear and practical framework that understands every line of dialogue as either a Question, Statement, or Instruction. When actors grasp this, scenes stop being performed and start living — grounded, spontaneous, and present. The morning focuses on foundations: acting as action, story versus moment, and why actors get stuck. The afternoon applies the work to text through guided scene work and simple repetition exercises to retrain instinct. Instructor: Mike Booth is an actor, director, and teacher with over 25 years’ experience across theatre, film, and television. He has directed dozens of plays and specialises in practical, humane training that actors can apply immediately. Details: Saturday 28 February | Redfern 10am - 5pm | Capped at 12 actors Fee: $240 Early Bird: $200 (first 4 bookings with promo code EARLYBIRD)
